ARTIST PROPOSAL / STATEMENT
Artist Proposal - A sketch and written plan put forward for consideration or discussion during a peer critique.
Artist Statement - A brief description of your artwork that shapes the viewer’s perspective when they are looking at your art. (“behind the scenes” details to help others understand the artwork better)
An Artist Statement Includes:
PEER CRITIQUE
Describe the artwork and identify the subject matter or main focus.
Analyze the elements and principles of art presented in the artwork.
Interpret the message / meaning of the artwork.
Judge the success of the artwork in its use of subject matter and elements / principles of art to deliver the intended message.
How do the methods of working (medium / techniques / style) support the content of the artwork?
