AboutI was born and raised in a small town 40 miles west of the Twin Cities. I spent much of my childhood drawing monsters & superheroes and singing Guns N Roses songs into a hair brush. In high school I played guitar in the rock band Star Larva. After earning my BFA from BYU, I moved to New York City for a summer to intern at The Society Of Illustrators and with professional artist Steve Brodner. Many years and 3 children later I completed my Masters degree at WGU in Curriculum & Instruction with my Capstone project focused on teaching sequential visual storytelling.
When I'm not teaching, I love creating rock n roll inspired art, portraits and experimenting with new & different creative processes. I also enjoy watching movies, playing pickleball & disc golf, going to concerts, watching sports and spending time with my wife Adrienne and little monsters Kozette, Ruby & Hendrix. |
TeachingI started my career as an educator at Oquirrh Hills Middle School. I taught ceramics, painting & art foundations for 7 years at OHMS. I also taught part time for many years at Maple Lake Academy, which is a residential treatment center for youth with learning differences and emotional disorders. As a third generation educator, I consider it a privilege to enlighten future generations on the finer things of life.

I especially enjoyed collaborating with my special needs students at OHMS!
Art + Rock N Roll
With my rock n roll posters I strive to capture the essence of each band through imagery, lyrics and the overall concept. Usually the more you are familiar with the history of the band and their music, the more you will understand the symbolism and appreciate the subtle nuances within my work. You can see all of my rock posters, portraits and other work on my website - TBraunStudio.com
